Kadri Munro

Kadri Nõmmik Munro has been active in the Estonian community her entire life. Currently, Kadri serves on the Audit Committee for Seedriou Estonian Children’s Summer camp. Previously, Kadri volunteered for fifteen years on the Board of Seedrioru.  She held various positions over the years: Chairman, Vice - Chairman, Secretary and Camp Co-ordinator. Kadri continues her work as Advisor to the Estonian Põhjarada Guides, secretary to the Estonian Guiders Council in Canada, and assistant leader of the Estonian Scouts and Guides Malev in Canada. Kadri was previously the District Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and in various leadership roles in the guide group Põhjala Tütred. Noticing that there seemed to be a lot of Estonians in her new hometown of Collingwood, last February she founded the Georgian Bay Estonians Grupp and organized a get together of Estonians from the area.

Kadri sings in St Peter’s Church Women's Ensemble, "Helin" and sang in the Hamilton Estonian Society Mixed Choir and the guides' singing group, "Leek." She is a graduate of the Estonian Schools in Toronto and has danced in the Kungla folk dance group. In 2015, she was voted in as a Seedrioru Honorary Member. In 2014, she was awarded the EKN Teenetemärk decoration.

The Estonian Central Council in Canada (ECC)/Eestlaste Kesknõukogu Kanadas (EKN) is a nationally elected council founded in 1951 that furthers the interests and development of the Canadian Estonian community.
